VIAJE VIRTUAL

 

La red de telecomunicaciones es un espacio virtual e inmaterial que permite el viaje de información en un tiempo instantáneo. Bajo este concepto, cree una obra que trata sobre una sincronización virtual haciendo que los espectadores ‘viajaran’ a distintos lugares al mismo tiempo. Consistía en una video instalación de veinte pantallas  que mostraban videos a tiempo real en diferentes partes del mundo, obtenidos en la página Web www.earthcam.com. Además, dentro de la sala de exposición, instalé una cámara que grababa, también en tiempo real, todo lo que sucedía en aquel lugar y cuyo video fue proyectado como un lugar más que el espectador debía observar: el propio. El aquí y ahora sucede no sólo desde nuestra conciencia.

VIRTUAL TOUR

The telecommunications network is a virtual and immaterial space that allows information to travel in an instantaneous amount of time. Under this concept, I created a work piece that deals with a virtual synchronization making the spectators 'travel' to different places at the same time. It consisted of a video installation of twenty screens that showed real time videos in different parts of the world, obtained through the web page www.earthcam.com. In addition, inside the room, I installed a camera that recorded -also in real time- everything that happened in that place, whose video was projected as just another place that the viewer should observe: his own. The here and now happens not only from our conscience.
